Union nurses at MultiCare's Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup have approved a no confidence vote against the system's CEO, Bill Robertson, amid stalled contract negotiations. The hospital's 750 nurses, represented by the Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA), issued the vote, saying Robertson declined an invitation to a town hall discussion about staffing concerns they want to address via collective bargaining. Contract talks at the hospital began in February with 15 sessions complete. "MultiCare remains committed to bargaining in good faith with WSNA with the goal of reaching a fair contract that supports a safe, equitable and economically sustainable workplace," spokesperson Scott Thompson said in a statement to the Business Journal.
