Update: I got a call from the manager or owner today explaining that the hours were added up wrong and we won’t be charged 4.5 hour but actually 3.5. Much better and great customer service to fix as bad situation. So this is crazy. We were in need of a company to clean up some concrete water from our remodel. We hired Drain Pro and they were out the day after I called which was awesome and they even came out earlier then we were told. Awesome. I was told by Ricky that the hourly rate started from the time they left the shop till the time they returned to the shop. Fine understandable. What was shocking to me was the crew was at our house for an 1.5 hours and we were charge a total time of 4.5 hours!!!!! Ok so this would be understandable if we were in Seattle but no we were a total of 15 miles at the most from their shop. When I called asking why it was 3 hours of travel I was told their truck can’t go over 50 miles per hour. I’m sorry but even going 35 miles or even 10 miles per hour would take maybe an hour each way at the most. (I looked it up on google maps and look how long it would take via taking a bike) yes they did tell us from shop to shop but I really find it hard to believe it would take 3 hours total from central Tacoma to Puyallup/Milton area. At $175 dollars per hour that’s pretty shocking to get handed an invoice for over $700 in just labor and travel ($1000 total including dumping fee which we were aware of).
